Two Pictures of Dying contains two short stories written by the artist Alvin Luong and the curator Yang Tiange. The book is an extension of Luong’s film project TheYoung Comrade, which is inspired by Bertolt Brecht’s play, The Measures Taken, written in 1930. Contents of the book are presented fully in English and Traditional Chinese.

100% of the proceeds, excluding shipping, from the sale of this first edition of Two Pictures of Dying will be given to Butterfly (Asian and Migrant Sex Workers Support Network), an organization that provides support to, and advocates for, the rights of Asian and migrant sex workers.

The Young Comrade by Alvin Luong was exhibited at The New Gallery’s Main Space and Main Frame May 21–June 26, 2021.
